Ms. Loftis is an associate attorney with the Scheer Law Group, LLP (“SLG”). She graduated from Bates College (2003) with a B.S. in Political Science. Ms. Loftis went on to earn her Juris Doctor Degree from Whittier Law School (2008), earning a certification in Business Law. During law school, Ms. Loftis interned at California Occupational Safety and Health Administration as well as the White-Collar Crime division of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.
Prior to joining SLG, Ms. Loftis gained creditor bankruptcy experience in both California and Washington bankruptcy courts, representing lenders in motions for relief from stay, Chapter 11 and 13 claim and valuation litigation, objections to consumer plans and adversary proceedings.
In addition to consumer bankruptcy, Ms. Loftis has extensive experience in civil litigation, including the prosecution of unlawful detainers, title curative matters, judicial foreclosure proceedings, and interpleader actions. Ms. Loftis has also represented various national and local lenders and their appointed foreclosure trustees for almost ten years in the defense of wrongful foreclosure action in both state and federal court. At SLG, Ms. Loftis primarily focuses on collection and interpleader litigation and also utilizes her skills to assist with the bankruptcy and general civil litigation department.
Ms. Loftis is admitted to practice in all California and Washington state courts and in Federal Courts in the Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern District of California as well as the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington.
Ms. Loftis is both an Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Dodgers fan as well as an optimistic home gardener and baker.
