Joshua L. Scheer
Mr. Scheer is a principal of SLG. Mr. Scheer graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara (B.A. 2001), with a degree in Political Science. Mr. Scheer earned his Juris Doctor Degree from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, MA (2005). Mr. Scheer was recognized for academic excellence during his law school years, making the Dean’s List three times and graduating with Distinction.
During law school, Mr. Scheer spent a summer abroad at the University of Lund in Sweden, studying comparative law and legal ethics and made the Dean’s List for his studies there. Also while attending law school; Mr. Scheer worked as a legal intern for a certified NFL agent, assisting in the negotiation and preparation of contracts.
Mr. Scheer manages the SLG consumer litigation department. He has trial and law and motion experience in state and federal courts. His focus is on all aspects of creditor transaction and litigation matters in state and federal courts, including: Chapter 13 and 11 plan review and litigation, collection litigation, lender and broker fraud litigation, real estate transaction work including preparation of loan workout agreements, forbearance and loan modification agreements, and Lender TIC (tenant in common) loan review and advisement. Mr. Scheer is admitted to practice in all California state courts and in Federal Courts in the Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern District of California.

Mr. Scheer is the current chair of the Real Property Section of the Marin County Bar Association. He is a member of the California Credit Union Collectors Council and the Bay Area Bankruptcy Forum. He has been a featured speaker at various events including the Sacramento Valley Bankruptcy Forum (2007), the California Credit Union Collectors Council (2010, 2011) and the Marin County Bar Association, Real Property Section (2010, 2011). Mr. Scheer is an avid Red Sox fan.
