Privacy
Privacy issues and the protection of confidential information has become a crucial consideration for almost all SLG clients as the complexity and the need to protect confidential information grows.

Privacy issues also extend to the need for review of issues that arise under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act (FDCPA). The ability of SLG to advise its clients in these areas of law provides needed additional protection, with respect to lender/borrower obligations and also with respect to general regulatory responses that impact the day to day operations of SLG clients.

The following are some of the services provided by SLG in the area of Privacy law:

• General contract review and vendor service contract review to ensure adherence with Grahm Leach Bliley, FACTA, and attendant state law regulations;

• Identity Theft advisement and response;

• Reponses to Claims under the FCRA for improper credit reporting;

• Responding to “phishing” or other internet frauds;

• Seeking restraining orders and injunctions to prohibit unauthorized use of client confidential information.
