SLG approved as FNMA Counsel in California

SLG approved as FNMA Counsel in California.

Effective June 1, 2013,  Federal National Mortgage Association (“FNMA”) has mandated that all FNMA foreclosures be handled by approved law firms, qualifying under FNMA requirements. The impact of the FNMA mandate is that servicers will no longer be able to refer FNMA foreclosures directly to foreclosure trustees under FNMA guidelines. Law firms can either directly process judicial or non-judicial foreclosures, or are responsible for the  referral  of non-judicial foreclosures to foreclosure  trustees  and then are to  oversee the foreclosure process.

Scheer Law Group, LLP,  (“SLG”) is pleased to announce that it has received FNMA “no objection” designation for California. This designation allows SLG to handle FNMA foreclosures and related default litigation matters in California.  The designation is conditioned on SLG finalizing required FNMA training, which will occur before the June 1, 2013 mandate.  SLG handles a full range of lender default services and is able to fully advise its clients on the options for initiating judicial and non-judicial foreclosures in the state of California.  SLG can also guide and advise Clients and servicers on the impact of recently enacted SB 900 to prepare for or respond to compliance and litigation issues.  We help our Clients avoid problems.
